"My name is Alison Ripley I teach BTEC Art and Design: Fashion and OCN Foundation in Fashion Studies here at SMWA.
For the Islamic Awareness week I shall run a bead weaving workshop. Students will have the opportunity to create a necklace in a non-figurative geometric pattern using glass and wooden beads and ribbon.
Students will consider colour combinations for their own design. They will learn to thread and knot, calculate and count as they assemble their design. This exercise works on hand/eye co-ordination, manual dexterity and concentration.
Each student will complete a necklace within the workshop. "
